Overview
With the motto of "Fide et Labore," St Joseph's Boys' High School (formerly known as St. Joseph's European High School) is a private day Catholic primary and secondary school established in 1858 on Museum Road in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. The Jesuits built the School in 1858, the School offers education to boys from class kindergarten to Class 10, and it is co-educational for classes 11 and 12.
Academic
To release foreign exchange for these examinations, the Government of India switched to the Indian School Certificate Council, with two examinations at the end of Classes X and XII, the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education(ICSE) and the Indian School Certificate (ISC). So the School followed ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education) till class X. Then ISC (Indian School Certificate) for class XI and XII. The School offered the ICSE syllabus up to Class X. In 2005, the School changed and expanded its curriculum at both ends. It added Classes I to IV and extended the high School to include the ISC for Class XII. The year 2007 included another first, Class XI was changed to include girls, so it became a co-educational. Today there are around 60 students per section and three sections in the middle and high School. The other classes have a lesser number of students. The admission process for the institution starts every year in May, and School starts in July.
Campus
The school campus is warm and supportive, and children do not feel threatened or fear ridicule. The School believes in no discrimination or bias in any form. Curriculum
The infrastructure of the School is well equipped with the latest technologies LCD projector screen for audiovisual presentation, outdoor playground for football badminton, cricket ground and various other sports etc. The School believes in child's old rounded development creating an equal balance between extra curriculum and academic studies to facilitate a deep understanding of concepts and sports school trips to feel location and educational tools or an organized for higher grade students. The school students are provided with opportunities to express themselves participate in communication and conversation, ask questions and use the words enhancing reading skills to make meanings from the print. The School believes that language is the most important area of a child's development and also good communication skills set us apart and unite us with each other.
The children engage in different activities such as threading beads, Puzzles sorting etc., which provides opportunities for hands-on reinforcement of concepts and skills that have been introduced in the whole group setting to the children.
