About School

Innisfree House School, Bengaluru

Established in the year 1985 by Mrs S. Bolar, a National Award-winning educator with decades of teaching experience, Innisfree House School is affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) and Cambridge Assessment International Examinations (CAIE).

Shaping students to:

  • Think independently
  • Look after themselves physically and emotionally
  • Overcome any challenges life throws their way
  • Display courage of conviction

Teaching students to:

  • Be polite, kind, and empathetic
  • Choose honesty
  • Be confident and outspoken
  • Be diligent and hardworking
  • Parental involvement and collaboration

The school views parents as partners in the student's emotional, academic, and mental growth. Therefore, the parent community is encouraged to communicate and collaborate with us via multiple channels.

The Innisfree House School community is diverse. They believe in inclusive education that recognizes and values all students, ensuring they feel supported, no matter their learning challenge or preferred learning style. As an inclusive community, they are committed to:

  • Providing an inclusive learning and teaching environment
  • Supporting learners in whatever way they require
  • Implementing inclusive educational practices
  • No discrimination and harassment
  • Providing equal access to an engaging curriculum, regardless of learning styles, challenges, and capabilities

Innisfree House School follows a policy of continuous assessment to evaluate learning outcomes.

In addition to conducting regular academic evaluations, they monitor all students' physical, social, and emotional development from preschool through Class 10 to ensure overall growth. To enable early detection of problem areas and conduct a swift intervention, we implement ASSET (a diagnostic tool used to assess understanding in subjects like English, Science and Maths) from Classes 3-8.

Since 2013, they have been partnered with FitKids for school-wide implementation of Leapstart, India's leading curriculum-driven sports education program. The Leapstart program teaches age-appropriate motor skills and important concepts such as teamwork; form, posture; and game-specific rules, techniques and etiquette.

A minimum of 3 classes each week are devoted to physical education; preschoolers enjoy physical activity five days a week. The basketball court is always in use. As a testament to their love of the game, generations of alumni return each year to participate in the Inter-batch Alumni Basketball Playoffs.

At Innisfree House School, Bengaluru, they recognize the importance of competition–and although the school encourage the students to do well all they do, we never over-prioritize the idea of winning. There's little doubt that competitive sport provides an opportunity to learn about discipline, focus, and teamwork. However, we at IHS believe that it also offers bigger life lessons:

  • How to set goals.
  • How to be fair.
  • How to handle disappointment.
  • How to learn from mistakes.
  • How to be gracious in defeat.

The students are encouraged to participate in inter-house and inter-school sporting events–if they are interested in participating in sporting competitions outside of the school's ambit. They also go the extra mile to support them every step of the way.
