General Overview 

Rashtriya Military Schools are public boarding schools that offer education and accommodation only for boys established in 1946. They are fully affiliated with the Central Board Of Secondary Education (CBSE). These schools are members of the Indian Public School Conference (IPSC). Rashtriya Military Schools operate under the able guidance of the Ministry of Defense. The school imparts education with English as their medium of instruction. 

Hostel Overview 

The school offers spacious and well-maintained rooms and facilities that serve as a home away from home for the boys. 

Age Eligibility For Admission

Class 6- To be eligible for admission, the boys must be 10 - 12 years old on July 2022.

Class 9 - An eligible applicant must be a boy between the ages of 13-15 and should be born between 01 April 2007 to 31 March 2009, including both dates.

Class 8 - An applicable candidate should not be born earlier than 02 July 2009 and not later than 01 January 2011. He should be between the age of 11 1/2 years to 13 years.

Qualifications For The Admission Process

Class 6 - No qualifications needed for admission into grade 6.

Class 8 - Students appearing for grade 6th and passed grade 7th in any recognized school are qualified to apply.

Class 9th - Students who have done their grade 8th in any recognized school are qualified to apply at the time of admission.

The Medical Qualification

Successful applicants will be required to undergo a medical examination at military hospitals, determined or chosen by the Director-General of Medical Services before admission. Only medically qualified students will be admitted to the school. 

The Common Entrance Exam (CET)

This is an objective type test conducted by the school to identify and filterable candidates. 

Syllabus For The CET 

Class 6th - Grade 5 portions on general knowledge, Maths and English.

Class 9th - The applicants are tested on Hindi, English, Social Science, Mathematics and Science of the grade 8 syllabus. 

 Class 8th - The applicants will be tested on Mathematics, General Knowledge, English of the grade 7 syllabus. 

Application Form

The application form with the brochure can be requested manually from any Rashtriya military school against the payment of rupees. 600 / (Rs. 555 / for the SC / ST category) via Demand Draft DD or Cash. You can also get it through an online payment. After the payment has been made successfully, the application form along with the prospectus is sent to your registered address.

Sending Of the Demand Draft 

Eligible applicants can also get the application form via post by sending the self-addressed slip and Rs. 600 / (Rs. 555 for SC / ST category), which includes Rs.50 / for the postage via Demand draft payable at the respective Rashtriya Military School (in favour of the "Rashtriya Military School Principal"). All applications will be forwarded only through Rashtriya Military School.
