About School

Indus International School, Hyderabad, came into being in the year 2008 at Mokila near Shankarpally and is a brainchild of the Indus Trust. The Indus International School shapes young minds into bright people of tomorrow. The institution aims to strike an excellent balance between the school's social, academic and cultural environment. The comprehensive education leads to significant developments in the students intellectually, and there is an environment of independence, discipline, order and brotherhood at the school campus.

The school's ethos is rightly captured in its motto. In Omnia Paratus or 'prepared for all challenges, this is achieved through a unique and well-defined curriculum and a strong emphasis on "learning beyond the classroom".

Campus

Spread over a 27-acre campus in Hyderabad, India's technology capital, Indus International School provides state-of-the-art facilities for academics and sports and a genuinely world-class ambience. The classrooms are spaciously designed to seat 25 students and are equipped with play areas for pre-school, projection systems, computer facilities and lockers. The well-equipped theatre has a capacity of over 1000 individuals.

The classrooms are spacious with only 25 students' accommodating facilities so that the class is comfortably spaced. Computers are present in classrooms, hostels, staff rooms etc., apart from the library and the computer lab.

The school library is stocked with the latest editions of reference books, novels, journals etc.

Academics

The medium of instruction at Indus is English, and the curriculum offered is:

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Year Program from Prep to Class V. The Middle School Curriculum from class VI-VIII culminating in the University of Cambridge's International Examination in class IX and X. Students are awarded the International Certificate of Education (ICE) after class X. The school offers the IB Diploma Program for class XI and XII.

The school provides holistic education for the overall development of the students. Modern methods have been inferred for developing analytical skills in children.

The Indus Startup School

The Indus Startup School is the first of its kind within K-12 education globally. Here students of classes 9th to 12th pursue a dual program, committing to 4 hours a week at the Startup School.

The children work in teams to develop themselves in the following avenues:

  • Leadership
  • Life
  • Technology
  • Business

The curriculum aims at guiding children on how to learn, think, and reflect on their learning to promote student autonomy.

A novel feature of the Startup School is some parents' involvement as mentors, who guide and coach students in developing business competencies. This parent-school partnership highlights the standard shift in 21st-century learning and its importance in unlocking students' potential.

Extracurricular:

The school has excellent sports facilities that include a 6-lane 400-metre field track, tennis, basketball, throw ball, volleyball and football, apart from horse riding facilities.

Achievement

The school's ethos is rightly captured in its motto. In Omnia Paratus or 'prepared for all challenges, this is achieved through a unique and well-defined curriculum and a strong emphasis on "learning beyond the classroom".

Accommodation

The residential facilities with all the amenities are available on the campus itself. Separate boys and girls residential services based on the 'house' concept are known. These are each under the close supervision of an experienced houseparent. Every living room module is based on semi-independent cabins.
