History of HPS

The Nawab Mir Osman Ali Khan made excellent improvements to Hyderbad as we see today in education or societal development. His legacy, was his vision for a ‘better India and Hyderabad’. One such giving of this mission was the Hyderabad Public School. 

Nawab Khan Bahadur Mirza Akbar Baig was the chief architecture of the Hyderabad Public School in the year 1923. Sprawled across 152 acres of land, this institute has royalty embedded in its very foundations. Easily observed in its detailed architecture and design, the prime attraction is the Shaheen Block. Previously known as the ‘Jagirdar’s College,’ the institute acquired its current name in 1951, after abolishing the zamindari system in the year 1950. It is situated right behind the Shaheen Dome of the institute, which comprises the royal staircase that leads up to the well-stocked library, still holding out in the ‘Jagirdar’s Block. The library at the Hyderabad Public school is exclusive. However, it is a treasure trove for some of the best in scriptures and literature. Comprising of the ‘Reading Hall’ and ‘Gallery’, the library has some of the best ancient and modern collections. True to its royal legacy, the Hyderabad Public school includes the ‘Horse riding club’ and the ‘Shooting Range’ facilities. Also, the 10M shooting range within the sophisticated air-conditioned space for training is worth a watch. These have 11 firing points and an electronic target for Air rifle and air pistol. • Log on to the school website and fill in the details of the enquiry form. Visiting the school office is also acceptable.
• Scheduled to receive a call from the Counselor about their queries and also to collect the required information.
• The Admission form needs to be received and completed at the school’s admission office.
• The date for the Entrance test and Parental interaction will inform the aspirants.
• Parental interaction also wants students to appear for the classes.
• Aptitude tests are there for class KG and above.
• The next step is the student’s registration and the payment of fees which needs to be done within the next seven working days.

Here special care is to ensure the children get the feel of a home away from home. With two large wings named the ‘Tagore wing’ and the ‘Kalidas wing’. Ensuring care, comfort along with the proper disciplinary atmosphere. Placed under the supervision of the Matrons, Housemistress and house masters.
