Focus High School is a community of lifelong learners that aims to enable children to excel in all aspects of life.
The establishment provides for students’ holistic development:
Convinced that learning is a means of establishing justice and mercy globally, Focus High School ensures that its programmes are accessible to all.
Access to IB programmes is extremely limited in India because the only schools offering them are privately and commercially funded. Fees for IB programmes in private schools are beyond the reach of middle-class people. IB programmes are also out of reach because of distance and social stratification.
Focus High School seeks to widen access to IB programmes in several ways. First, their fee structure is such that large numbers of common people can afford the costs.
The school is a co-educational and secular school that invites students of all backgrounds. The students do not feel excluded by religious affiliation, disability, language, or gender. In the old city of Hyderabad, these are major barriers to access because most institutions are either religiously affiliated by a single religious or linguistic community. In addition, commercial schools systematically exclude children with learning and other disabilities because they might lower their overall performance. On the other hand, the school admits and supports students with various disabilities, including partial blindness, effects of premature birth, and dyslexia.
