DAV Public School, Safilguda is a premier school that pioneered the DAV movement in the south. Beginning in a rented premise with about 200 students and 15 teachers in 1983, it moved into its own three and a half acre premises within three years. It has now rapidly expanded into a big school with over 4000 students and 150 teachers housed in 120 rooms with state-of-the-art infrastructure and high-end labs. ICT enabled, the administration is aided with a good network of communication. As the Nodal head of forty-three schools of South Zone, it is a training centre and administrative director.

DAV Public School aims to provide effective teaching and learning situations, which help students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, oral skills, written communication skills and ethical behaviour. In addition, the school equip the students with a set of life skills that will help them become what they are meant to be caring, sensitive, intelligent persons who are a credit to all who have had a hand in their upbringing.

Co-curricular Activities 

Sports

The learners are sculpted in the classroom get their finishing in the playground. Suppose the classroom is the place for academic pursuance, moral education and camaraderie. In that case, the playground is for Physical vigour, leadership qualities, decision-making team spirit and sportsmanship. 

All classes get at least two PT periods in a week during which they play various games. In addition, inter-house sports competitions are held in many disciplines. Three PT Instructors manage the game's classes and the discipline of the school. Many sports stars have made it to various levels -, the most coveted being the alumnus of the DAV Public School Vishnu Vardhan representing the nation in the London Olympics in Men's Doubles.

Music

Music has been the forte of the establishment. Year after year, the children received prizes at Interschool levels and made personal achievements at their behest. A teacher with a degree in Music heads the department. They constantly engage in composing and innovating novel renditions. The children are also trained in instruments.

Art and Craft

Besides having assigned periods, competitions are held under projects such as best out of waste, flower arrangement etc. The department is well staffed to cater to all classes.

Aerobics

Callisthenic exercises under aerobics are a pet of the regular timetable. However, their regular practice comes in handy on celebrations when they enthral the audience with their displays.
