Overview

DAV Public School, Kukatpally, was established in the year 1984 under the aegis of the DAV College Managing Committee. Having started with 60 students and seven teaching staff, today's school boasts 4600 students and 250 teachers. It is a co-educational English medium day school with an affiliation to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. DAV Public School, Kukatpally, incorporates pre-primary, primary and secondary education and accepts students from all classes and creeds.

Campus

Sited on a 10-acre campus, DAV Public School, Kukatpally, hosts state-of-the-art science and computer laboratories, a library stocked with around 5000 volumes of books, a physical education lab equipped with modern fitness types of equipment and a music room. The school also offers a transport facility. Its sports infrastructure includes a tennis court, football ground, hockey ground, kho-kho ground, two basketball courts and two cricket pitches. The establishment also provides indoor games like carrom, table tennis, chess and badminton. In addition, there is a park designed specifically for younger children.

Academics

DAV Public School, Kukatpally, is affiliated with CBSE and follows the method of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE). The students are actively involved in the learning process. The evaluation system reduces stress while allowing teachers to note learning progress and spot the need for additional coaching or attention in specific areas. The co-curricular gain of the child is also recognized.

Smartboards (interactive whiteboards) are used to provide an enhanced learning experience.

Extracurricular

Students are coached in roller skating, hockey, roller hockey, cricket, basketball, kho-kho, gymnastics, athletics, handball, volleyball, lawn tennis, table tennis, soccer, chess and karate.

DAV Public School, Kukatpally, has been ranked among India's top day co-educational schools by the EducationvWorld C-Fore Survey in the year 2013.

The establishment has been felicitated with the British Council's International School Award (ISA) 2012-15.
