Overview
It was promoted in June 2011 by Praveen Raju – a nationally renowned educationist and vice-chairman of the Suchitra Group. They previously helmed the Indus International School, Hyderabad and the Indus Early Learning Centre, Jubilee Hills. Suchitra Academy is a new-genre K-12 school that aspires to provide students with a holistic 21st-century education and prepare the child for the demands of the 21st century. The school has an affiliation with the CBSE (Delhi) and CAIE (UK) board.
Under the able leadership of principal Mrs Deepa Kapoor, Suchitra Academy boasts of a highly qualified and motivated faculty team committed to creating independent thinkers and fearless individuals. At the same time, students delve deeper into the projects initiated by the mentors but led by themselves.
Ranked as number 1 countrywide in 'Multi Sports Category' by the Education World Grand Jury, Suchitra Academy, Hyderabad, boasts India's first world-class academy for badminton where India's badminton aces, including PV Sindhu train.
The establishment has also been featured among Fortune magazine's Future 50 Schools, Forbes' Great Indian Schools and Great Place to Study lists.
Infrastructure
The school has spacious, well-ventilated classrooms, a well-stocked library featuring a collection of around 5308 books, a brand new state-of-the-art kitchen catering to in-house meals, an infirmary with a trained nurse, spacious and expensive science labs. The establishment is sensitive to the needs of differently-abled students and has a lift and a ramp for easy access.

Class 10–
2017-18 – The school average was 68%
2018-19 - The school average was 81.3%
2019-20 - The school average was 79.7%.
Class 12 -
2019-20 was the first batch of Class 12.
The school average was 86.3%The CBSE section of the school has classes from playgroup through class 12th, while the Cambridge section has classes for classes 1st to 5th.
Pre-primary level
At the pre-primary, the teaching-learning process is non-formal and wholly student-centred. The audio-visual aids, models, visual materials are used as tools to nurture and boost the kids' imagination. These methods develop the ability to listen and helps students understand the concepts better. They are encouraged to come up with different ideas and are given the freedom to explore.
The institution is also launching the International Early Years Curriculum from the UK for the pre-primary classes. The internationally acclaimed International Early Years Curriculum is a research-based early childhood curriculum that addresses the developmental needs of 2 to 5-year-olds.
Grade 1st to 2nd:
The teaching-learning process at primary school is designed to infuse learning joy and foster innate curiosity in children through concrete hands-on learning experiences. A healthy balance is kept between academics and co-curricular at this level, with the focus moving a bit more towards academics.
Grades 3rd to 7th:
Project-based Learning is followed to equip students with 21st-century skills and bits of intelligence. Project-Based Learning is a teaching method in which students gain knowledge and skills by working for an extended period to investigate and respond to an authentic, engaging, and complex question, problem, and challenge. It helps create independent thinkers as students delve deeper into the projects initiated by the mentors but led by themselves.
Grades 8th to 12th:
At this stage, academics is an essential part of a child's life. There are grade-wise focus areas, and experts talks are regularly organised to help students get a natural feel of the concepts. Fieldwork, peer teaching and student-led projects are the distinguishing features of the teaching-learning process at this stage.
Good communication skills are promoted through the Speak to Lead Club, Reading Program and a well-stocked class and library. Leadership skill, which is a part of the 21st-century skills, is sharpened through different programmes such as yearly excursions, community services, an active student council and AFS intercultural Programs.
To help children make well-informed career choices, the school also offers a career counselling programme – UDAAN- right from class 9th. Both parents and children participate in the program, and the parents are updated about the activities during frequent interactions. It includes a Goal Setting session for each grade wherein the guardians are also involved.
Co-curricular
Driven by the vision of providing holistic education to students, the school offers a plethora of co-curricular activities. The students experience all segments important for the whole experience, from Sports, Visual Arts and Performing arts. Badminton, swimming, Basketball, Cricket, Soccer, Sculpting, Violin, Drums, Bharatnatyam, Gymnastics, Yoga, Contemporary Dance, Pottery all come under the umbrella of CCA. The students get to choose one activity from each segment while fulfils the school's philosophy of nurturing the body, mind and spirit. The special Activity Coordinator and Physical Director monitor the learning outcomes and level of engagement.
Achievement
In the 2020 CBSE grade 12th board exam, the first batch of Grade XII school-leaving students averaged 86.3 per cent. At the same time, the topper secured 96.6 per cent, 24 per cent of the students secured 95 per cent and above.
In the 2020 CBSE grade 10th board exam, the school average was 79.7 per cent.
Two students won the STEP Olympiad in the year 2019; they secured 1st position at the regional level conducted by The Hindu.
Community Initiatives
Suchitra Academy, Hyderabad, students regularly visit orphanages, nursing homes, blind schools and government schools to understand how privileged they are and to learn that compassion for others and generosity is a virtue that will stand them in good stead.
The children of class 10th made masks and distributed them among the lesser privileged. In addition, through social media, students spread awareness on using less plastic and the importance of mental wellbeing.
Classes 9th and 11th also made small video lessons on simple concepts for children of Suchitra Academy's blue-collar staff and government schools.
Suchitra Academy, Hyderabad, has a tie-up with the Government Primary School, Venallagadda. The children visit the government school and provide items as per the needs of the lesser fortunate children. The children from the government school are also invited for all health checkups organised here, including eye, dental, and overall physical checkups. They are also asked about the various programmes conducted at the school.
Accommodation
Being a day school, Suchitra Academy, Hyderabad, does not offer an accommodation facility.
