Sanghamitra School was founded by the Sanghamitra Foundation, an educational society registered with the Registrar of Societies, Hyderabad. Assembly & Meditations

Meditation is a key element in the assembly as it has various crucial factors, like:

• Creating an environment that is conducive to leading the children in a reflective exercise
• Encouraging the children to sit in a relaxed, comfortable and still manner
• Developing the ability to use the inner eye of imagination
• Observing their thoughts to nurture positive images that support positive behaviour.

Sports

Sanghamitra School has trained physical instructors to provide training in various sports activities for the children. The students at school are placed into four different houses: Shakti, Pragathi, Shanti and Sahiti. Inter-house competitions are held regularly, and a championship trophy is awarded every year. In addition, the children are given special training in that particular game or activity to identify an innate talent to participate in the South Zone CBSE Cluster Meet, the Intracity CBSE School Meet, and the All India CBSE Sports Meet. As a result, many children have won at the National level bringing laurels to the school.

Prakruthi / NGC

Prakruthi has been started to make learners aware of the environmental issues and the inter-dependence of man and nature. This encourages students to learn through discussion and debate. Ideas generated such are propagated in the community and at their respective houses. Sanghamitra School is a National Green Corps member. It has set up two water harvesters on the school premises. Planting trees, using cotton and jute bags, distributing clay Ganeshas during Vinayaka Chaturthi, and using recycled products are part of Prakruthi activities.

Social Service and Awareness

The children in today's society are barely aware of the less privileged around them. Everything appears to be easily accessible. To bring awareness about the underprivileged who are not endowed with the same resources and abilities, the school exposes the students to the present society and sensitises them about the ground realities. Money raised through the sale of candles made by National Green Corps members of the school and from the personal contributions of management and staff members is donated to the organisations. Notable contributions were made to the victims of TSUNAMI, LATUR EARTHQUAKE and the KARGIL WAR SOLDIERS.

WorkShops

The workshops conducted at Sanghamitra School and those organised in other schools help the teachers live the student's life again, a chance which no other profession provides. The management organises workshops, seminars, guest lectures and allows the teachers to visit different schools to imbibe new ideas.
