Overview and Aim

Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Hyderabad, was established in the year 2000. The school is a part of the Maharishi Global Education Movement, one of the largest chains of schools throughout the nation. Thus the school is situated in the Girish Park area of Hyderabad, and the camps are spread over 7.05 acres. The school offers complete practical and theoretical knowledge of consciousness, enabling the student to accomplish anything and live an entire life.

The school believes that the most vital element of life is consciousness, and the study of consciousness has been unfortunately forgotten out of the mainstream of education. The school also believes that the time has now come for everyone to gain complete knowledge of the person's consciousness. Maharishi Shiksha Sansthan runs the school.

Academics and Facilities

Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Hyderabad is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and imparts knowledge to students from KG to class 12th. The school strictly follows the curriculum prescribed by the board; English is the official language of the school. Till class 10th, the students are taught the compulsory subjects defines by the board, i.e. English, mathematics, science, social science, and second language. Along with these board subjects, Sanskrit has been added as a compulsory subject for all the students. The school also imparts knowledge of Maharishi Vedic Science, yoga, and Indian traditions and culture. The school believes that it is essential to be connected and aware of one's roots, customs, and cultures. The school strives to introduce Maharishi's Consciousness based education system in mainstream school education.

The campus is spread over seven-acre and has well ventilated and well-furnished classrooms, a library that is home to over 15,000 books that the students can issue. There is a junior science laboratory for the students till class 10th, and different physics, chemistry, biology and mathematics laboratories. The labs have the latest and modern apparatus and specimens used to conduct practical sessions for the students to gain in-depth knowledge of the subject and the topics. Educational trips give the students exposure, and mountaineering training conducted in collaboration with the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering Uttarkashi.

Extracurricular and Sports

The school believes in education outside the classroom and thinks that it is essential to instil qualities such as honesty, teamwork, punctuality, discipline, and leadership in the student from the very beginning. Activities like debating, public speaking, MUN conferences, inter-school and inter-house competitions, peer moderator programs, and sports events help the school instil the students' desired values.
